My MSI Wind

You know you can run Mac OSx on your wind? It requires some work but if you love to hack things, this project is for you.

What you need to install OSX on your Wind

Here's a list of what you MUST have to install OSX on your Wind...

- An external DVD drive
- A DVD containing Kalyway 10.5.2 install (you can find this on the usual 'torrent sites')
- The Kalyway 10.5.3 upgrader (as above) on a USB stick or CD/DVD
- The official 10.5.4 DELTA update from here on a USB stick or CD/DVD. Do NOT use the Combo updater.
- My Wind driver and utility pack (download here) on a USB stick or CD / DVD

Finally I got my wind. I made a videw with the unboxing, kind of fast but i wasn't very patient. Enjoy!

I've bought today the first accessory for my MSI Wind. It's a Logitech V100 optical mouse that with it's small size will fit the Wind perfectly.

P.S.: The store where I made the order told me today that they don't know when I will receive my Wind, it all depends on the courier that handles the transport. I think I'll never buy from then again.

I did it! I couldn't wait until September for the white model to come in stock at the store I made the order so today I called and asked them if the black version is in stock and if I could change my order. They said yes so I'll be expecting my Wind tomorrow. I CAN'T WAIT!

Surfing on youtube I've found a very interesting and complete comparison between MSI Wind, Asus EE PC 901 and Acer Aspire One. I think you already know what is my favourite betweent the three netbooks, so just enjoy the video and feel free to post your opinions.

I've found a video on youtube with a MSI Wind netbook running Microsoft Vista Ultimate as an operating system. I personally don't think that Vista is suitable for such a small device. I have Microsoft Vista on my desktop PC and in some cases I would preferred to have the old an plain Windows XP SP2. ( My desktop has 4GB of RAM so this isn't a problem of hardware ). What do you think? Is Vista suitable for MSI Wind?

The people from MSI have decided to sell for about $599 a special edition of the MSI Wind notebook. This special edition has some cute drawings on it and has a 3 cell battery. You can order it if you like it from this store.

Now you can buy a 6 cell battery MSI Wind Microtel from Amazon. It has normal specs and it costs around $599. The only disadvantage is the shipping time that can be around 5 weeks. You can find the netbook here .
